A Paddle, a Pedal & a Wander
Montbell presents Lake to Fell, a zero-pressure, human-powered, 35km lakeland loop using paddles, pedals, and feet.
Join us on 12-13th September 2026 for a weekend that includes a camp-out in Borrowdale, a series of talks and workshops about the local environment and a good day out on the fells.
What is Lake to Fell?
Lake to Fell draws inspiration from Montbell’s long-running ‘Sea to Summit’ event series in Japan. The first UK edition takes place in Borrowdale, in the Lake District, close to Montbell UK's home in Keswick.
The two-day event is centred around Hollows Farm Campsite. The event opens on Saturday afternoon with a series of talks and workshops exploring Lakeland nature, culture, and environmental issues. This is followed by a 35km paddle, bike and hike event on Sunday.
It isn’t a race. There's no timing, no tracking and no pacing. This is an opportunity to get out in the fells with good people and move at your own pace, tracing the Borrowdale landscape from Lake to Fell.
Why do Lake to Fell?
All the challenge, none of the race pressure. There will be no timing or tracking; just move under your own power, at your own pace.
A big Lakeland adventure in a day. Paddle, pedal, and wander from lakes, through valleys, over passes and onto summits. A good day out.
Unplug and unwind. Overnight at the secluded Hollows Farm Campsite is included.
Deepen your knowledge of the Lakes. The 'Nature Sessions' will explore local nature, culture and environmental issues.
Meet good people. With only 100 tickets available, we’re keeping things intimate and friendly.
All the support, none of the nonsense. We’ll provide you with a route map, checkpoints, transition stations, marshals, medical support and top-quality snacks.
